Unlike local moves billed by the hour, long-distance moves are priced based on the total volume of your shipment and the distance between origin and destination, with additional factors including packing services, specialty item handling, and access conditions at both locations.
At CEO Moving, our long-distance moving service provides the same white-glove standard of care you would expect from our local service, extended across any distance in the country. From your Bay Area home to Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, or anywhere in between, your dedicated CEO Moving coordinator manages every detail of your move from the first consultation through final delivery and placement at your new home.
Long-distance moves are inherently more complex than local moves, involving interstate regulations, delivery windows, and the logistical challenge of coordinating two properties in different cities or states simultaneously. CEO Moving has the experience and operational infrastructure to manage all of that complexity on your behalf.

Long-distance moves are priced based on the total volume of your shipment and the distance between your origin and destination. Additional factors include packing services selected, specialty item handling, fuel surcharges, and access conditions at both properties. CEO Moving provides flat rate written estimates for all long-distance moves, so your total cost is confirmed before your move begins.
A binding estimate guarantees your total cost regardless of the actual weight of your shipment. A non-binding estimate is based on an approximate volume and may be adjusted after your shipment is loaded. A not-to-exceed estimate caps your maximum cost at the estimated amount even if the actual volume is higher. CEO Moving explains all pricing options clearly and recommends the approach that best protects your budget.
Transit time depends on the distance to your destination, the route, and the type of service selected. Moves to neighboring states typically take two to four days. Moves to the East Coast may take one to two weeks. CEO Moving provides a delivery window at the time of booking and updates you proactively throughout transit.
We recommend booking at least four to six weeks in advance, and eight or more weeks during peak season from May through September. Long-distance moves require more lead time than local moves due to the complexity of interstate logistics and binding estimate preparation.
While we take every precaution to handle your belongings with the utmost care, we understand that accidents can occasionally happen. Every move includes basic liability coverage, and we also offer full-value protection plans for added peace of mind. In the unlikely event that an item is damaged, our team will respond quickly and work transparently to resolve the issue to your satisfaction.
